The mission of the Constitution PBIS Team is to create a positive school environment by providing students and teachers with proactive strategies through the use of a school-wide system and class discussions. The PBIS committee meets once a month to collaborate over campus data and come up with strategies and reinforcements to implement around campus.
The foundation for our PBIS Program is our school rules: At Constitution we SOAR by showing:
-

Our Constitution Eagles SOAR throughout all areas of our campus. Please take a look at our School Wide SOAR Matrix to see our SOAR expectations!
Staff members frequently recognize students for following our school-wide procedure and expectations. Students are given SOAR Bucks which they fill out and can buy prizes in our bi-weekly SOAR store. They can also use the SOAR bucks for school-wide grade level drawings and classroom incentives!

Boys Town
The Boys Town Education Model

Boys Town is a school-based intervention strategy that focuses on managing behavior, building relationships, and teaching social skills. It emphasizes preventive and proactive practices rather than reactive responses to deal with student behavior.
Based on the Boys Town Model,® the Boys Town Education Model® puts Boys Town’s research-proven child-care methods to work in a variety of educational settings. Its gives classroom teachers, administrators and support staff the tools to implement key Model components:
- A curriculum of specific life skills taught as expectations in the classroom
- Teaching methods that support the life skills curriculum – specific ways to teach the life skills to students
- Administrative intervention – a method for dealing with students who are referred to the office from the classroom because of disruptive behavior
- Focus on student competencies – creating a positive classroom environment by encouraging teachers to see the value of developing a positive relationship with each student and praising students’ positive behaviors and successes
These components are part of a complete system-wide approach to creating and encouraging respectful staff and student relationships by changing the way schools address student behavior.
CE focuses on a new social skill every 2 weeks. Teachers implement the skill by having conversations about the skills with class then the class has time to role play, partner share their ideas about the skill.
