In Arizona education, Title I is a federally funded program, part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), that provides additional resources and support to schools with high concentrations of low-income students to help them meet state academic standards.
- Title I funds can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
- Providing intervention programs in reading and mathematics.
- Offering before-school, after-school, or intersession programs.
- Hiring highly qualified staff, such as reading specialists or instructional coaches.
- Supporting family engagement through parent liaisons and family resource centers.
- Providing professional development for families, teachers, and support staff.
